Training and Education

In 2012 approximately 18,000 patients, including 5,500 cancer patients, required palliative care in Armenia. At least twice as many family members require palliative care support.* The supply of experienced medical staff cannot, at this time, meet the demand for this type of care. Meduni will provide personnel with ongoing education and professional development which is critical to offering the best care possible.  Local and international collaborations will contribute significantly in all training and education initiatives.

The center will, in due course, apply for international accreditation. Obtaining accreditation will support exemplary education and training efforts and help meet global accreditation standards. Global accreditation requires meeting superior competencies in areas such as patient care, ethics, managerial governance, and professional development for staff. Accreditation will assist in attracting international patients and staff.
